SHARE THE GIFT OF WARMTH THIS WINTER
Every winter, millions of families face freezing temperatures without the clothing they need to stay warm and safe.
Gaza’s displaced families are facing a winter emergency
Across Gaza, families who have already lost their homes are living in tents and makeshift shelters with little protection from the weather. Many of these shelters have been in use for months, patched together with plastic sheeting and whatever materials families have been able to find. They were never built to withstand winter storms.
When the first storm of the season arrived in November 2026, tens of thousands of these shelters flooded overnight. Families woke to water inside their tents, with mattresses, blankets and clothing soaked through and nowhere dry to sleep. In some areas, emergency teams worked through the night to respond to calls for help, but severe shortages of fuel and equipment meant many families were left to cope alone.

No child should go cold this winter
Every winter, millions of families face freezing temperatures without the clothing they need to stay warm and safe. Conflict, displacement, poverty, and natural disasters force vulnerable families to choose between food, shelter, and protection from the cold.
For many, warm clothing is simply out of reach. Through the IAC-UK Winter Aid Programme, we provide Winter Aid Kits containing essential clothing and footwear to help children and vulnerable families stay warm during the harsh winter months.
A simple winter kit can make the difference between comfort and suffering, helping families protect themselves from the cold while preserving dignity and hope during difficult times.
The Need
For families living through winter hardship, the cold can be life-threatening.
Across many parts of the world, winter temperatures can fall well below freezing. Families living in temporary shelters, damaged homes, refugee camps, and informal settlements often lack adequate clothing to protect themselves from the cold.
Children are particularly vulnerable. Without proper winter clothing, they face increased risks of illness, missed education, and exposure to harsh weather conditions.
By providing Winter Aid Kits, we help families stay warm, healthy, and protected throughout the winter season.
